Amulya Patnaik, Commissioner of Police, Delhi inaugurated two new Subsidiary Police Canteens

Delhi | January | 02, 2019 :: Amulya Patnaik, Commissioner of Police, Delhi inaugurated two new Subsidiary Police Canteens as a welfare measure for police personnel, at DCP Office Complex East District & Shahdara District, on 2nd Jan 2019. These two canteens would cater to the families of serving and retired police personnel, especially those residing in trans-Yamuna area. These canteens will function from 9 AM to 5 PM everyday (except Monday). These are fully air conditioned canteens with the modern Shopping Centre looks and amenities. All type of Debit and Credit cards are accepted in these canteens. Now, as many as 14 such subsidiary canteens cater to daily household needs of police personnel.

Subsidiary Police Canteen is one of the welfare schemes launched by Delhi Police for its personnel. The purpose of opening of these canteens is to provide quality consumer goods, durables and utility items at subsidized rates to the police personnel (both serving and retired) and their families. The articles (including groceries, cosmetics & travel bags), which are being sold through these canteen, are procured, from CRPF on subsidized rates with the prior permission of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India.

Speaking on the occasion, the CP/Delhi commended the efforts of DCsP East and Shahdara Districts for taking this welfare measure for the staff. He further stressed upon continuing welfare measures such as maintenance of staff quarters, leave related measures and quick redressal of other grievances of subordinate staff.

Sandeep Goel, Spl. CP/Law & Order(North), Ravindra Yadav, Jt. CP/Eastern Range, Pankaj Singh DCP/East, Ms. Meghna Yadav, DCP/Shahdara and Atul Kumar Thakur, DCP/North-East, besides several retired police personnel were present on the occasion.
