East Delhi | October | 17, 2016 :: Awareness Session of Section 138 Negotiable Instruments Act was organised by samrasta foundation and Delhi Legal Service Authority [ DLSA ] at AGCR Community Center, Shahdara, East Delhi on 16th Oct 2016. The head of foundation Manoj Kansal told that these types of awareness programs at the topics of law are very essential for general public to know.
The expert speaker Ankit Gupta advocate from Shahdara legal service authority explained in depth provisions of negotiable instruments act and also told about the punishment under this act is twice the cheque amount with two years of imprisonment. Moreover it was also told that a separate case for recovery can also be filed under this.
Public interacting session was there and several questions of the public were also answered. Speaker also made aware about the compensation under the section 357 Cr.P.C and interest under section 117 of NI ACT can also be demanded from the accused person.
The Chief Guest, Advocate Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Delhi High Court also gave outline of the negotiable instruments act and addressed questions of public.
The program was attended by various legal luminaries including Advocate Raj Kumar Jain, Subhash Kumar, Fashion Photographer & Model Seema Thakur, Photojournalist Arpit Gupta, and others, Director General of Anti Corruption Group Mr. Ajay Chadha appreciated the efforts being taken to organise the awareness session regarding the law.
