Bamboo Cycle at the Jharkhand Pavilion in IIFT, New Delhi is a big hitNew Delhi, 19 November 2013 ::  The Bamboo Cycle at the Jharkhand Pavilion is proving to be a crowd puller. The entire Cycle with the exception of Tyres, Brakes, Seat, Chain etc. is made of bamboo .The cycle is produced locally at Ranchi, Jharkhand.

Some of the important features of this cycle include :- its light weight between 13-16 kgs, its tensile strength is more than steel, it is eco-friendly, it has rural employment opportunities and has immense export potential. It costs ranges from 3000 to 8000 rupees.

It is being produced under the banner of Zarqua Bamboo Factory by the trade name of BAMMOVE. Its owner Dr. Zafar Obaid said the factory is located near Apollo Hospital in Ranchi. Talking about the strength to the cycle he said that it can carry a load of more than 100 kgs and it is lighter than the normal metallic cycles.

The Cycle is currently only for exhibition and not for sale. Those interested in buying it may book it now after depositing a certain amount and the delivery will be made later on. The company is offering a discount of 30% to those who are booking it now. Many foreign companies have approached its owner for importing this cycle.

The owner is enthralled by the positive response it is getting by the national and international visitors and plans to increase its production by leaps and bounds to meet the demand.
