Deep Grace Ekka confident enough to wreck the opponent’s defenceNew Delhi | August | 31, 2015 :: With the 7th Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2015 all slated to commence on the 5th September 2015 in Changzhou, China, the Indian Junior Women Hockey team is gearing up to face the challenges that the tournament will throw at them. Placed in the Pool A of the tournament, the young Indian eves will face the challenges of China, Malaysia, Singapore and DPR Korea in the pool phase. The team all set to depart next week for the tournament, will open its outing with their clash against DPR Korea in the opening match on the first day of the tournament.

The versatile player, defender Deep Grace Ekka is another player to fix the eyes upon as she is certain to wreck the momentum of the opponents with her steady attacking moves. She has massively contributed in building a strong defensive line for her team-mates and aims to put in her best efforts in an attempt to dish out a commendable performance in the upcoming tournament.

Commenting on the team’s preparation for the upcoming tournament, defender Deep Grace Ekka said, “We are yet again confident of putting up a great show. I am excited and look forward to the upcoming challenge. We are waiting for our clashes with the participating teams. Playing against teams that give you a tough challenge makes you run that extra mile in the game and that’s what excites me about these matches. Also with a strong defence line, I am confident we will not allow the opponents to break our defence chain easily.”

The 7th Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2015 gives an opportunity for qualification for the FIH Junior World Cup (Women) 2016. The upcoming tournament will be played from 5th to 13th September 2015 in Changzhou, China. A total nine Junior Asian teams will participate in this prominent tournament. India’s first clash will be against DPR Korea on 5th September at 12.30 pm IST.
