The 6th Assembly Elections of the Delhi Vidhan Sabha or the Legislative Assembly were held in 1998.The 1993 elections are significant as the Congress regained the majority of the seats of the Legislative Assembly. A total of 70 MLAs representing 70 Assembly constituencies were elected in the 1993 elections. Out of them, 9 were women MLAs and 13 MLAs were from the SC category.

National Parties which took part in the election were Bhartiya Janta Party [BJP ], Bahujan Samaj Party [BSP ], Communist Party of India [CPI ], Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPM ], Indian National Congress [INC ], Janta Dal [JD ], Samata Party [SAP ]
