26-DPSRanchi, Jharkhand | November | Thursday | 26, 2015 :: Delhi Public School Ranchi celebrated ‘Constitution Day’ on 26-11-2015 in order to honour  democracy as per the guidelines of CBSE. The celebration began with Principal Dr. Ram Singh addressing the students in the morning assembly. The students took a pledge by reciting the Preamble to the Constitution in unison. The head of the institution spoke in detail about the significance of the constitution of India. He said that it is the supreme law of India and is also a living document which makes the Government system work. It was also highlighted by him that it was on 26-11-1949 that the constitution was adopted by the constituent assembly. He also stated that this noble task initiated by the honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, will help the school children to learn and know about the constitution and its chief architect Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.

A poster making competition was also organised by the children of classes VI to XII which illustrated the message contained in the Preamble. The children came out with brilliant and innovative ideas in order to make the contents of the Preamble amply clear. The posters presented by the children depicted how the constitution was framed in order to create a secular and republic country with justice, liberty, fraternity and equality as its chief motto. The best three will be selected from these and the winners will be awarded a special certificate of appreciation by the Principal.

This programme will instill awareness among the children and kindle the flame of patriotism in the hearts of these young pioneers who will indeed lead the country into a scientific, self-governing India with peace, poise and progress.
