Good News :: PM Modi led Rajpath Yoga Set two Guinness records

21-Yoga June 21, 2015 :: India has set two world Guinness records on International Yoga Day today, with the Yoga performance at Rajpath led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The world record for Largest Yoga Class, with 35,985 people, and the record for most nationalities participating in a single yoga event – 84.

The Guinness record is currently held by Vivekananda Kendra which organised a yoga event in which 29,973 people participated in Gwalior on November 19, 2005.yoga-dayA record breaking number of participation was observed in Delhi Rajpath and the arrangements included big digital screens screening the event live from Rajpath, where security arrangements were also commendable.In the guidance of Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and instructors, both the PM and the public performed asanas (postures) and pranayams (breathing exercises) on Sunday.prime-minister-yoga-dayDressed in all-white and a tricolour scarf, PM Modi performed a variety of poses, including the Vajrasan and Padmasan, along with nearly 37,000 people on red mats.
Similar yoga events took place simultaneously across India.

The UN announced an International Day of Yoga last year after PM Modi’s appeal at the General Assembly.
