Farah Khan (born 9 January 1965) is an Indian film director, film producer, actress and choreographer. She is best known for her choreographic work in numerous Bollywood films. She has choreographed dance routines for more than a hundred songs in over 80 Hindi films. She has since become a film director as well. In addition, she has worked on international projects such as Marigold: An Adventure in India, Monsoon Wedding and the Chinese film Perhaps Love.

 Farah Khan was born on 9 January 1965. Her mother Menaka is the sister of screenwriter Honey Irani and former child actor Daisy Irani. Farah’s brother is comedian, actor and film director Sajid Khan. When their parents’ marriage broke up, Farah and Sajid were shuttled between different homes. Film personalities Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar are Farah’s cousins.

 Khan married Shirish Kunder, the editor of her film Main Hoon Na, on 9 December 2004. They have since worked together on each other’s films, such as Jaan-E-Mann, Om Shanti Om, and Tees Maar Khan. Khan gave birth to triplets in 2008; one son and two daughters.

 Farhan Akhtar (born 9 January 1974) is an Indian film director, screenwriter, producer, actor, playback singer, lyricist and television host. Born in Mumbai to screenwriters Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani, he grew up under the influence of the film industry. After completing his schooling in Maneckji Cooper school, he pursued a commerce degree in HR College, Mumbai, before dropping out, and beginning his career in films by working as an assistant director in Lamhe (1991) and Himalay Putra (1997).

 Farhan Akhtar was born to screenwriters Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani in Mumbai. He has a sister, writer–director Zoya Akhtar. His parents divorced during his early days, and his father married Shabana Azmi in 1984. Akhtar has termed his parents as the “harshest” critics in his career, and also considered Robert De Niro as an “inspiration” in the film industry.

 Akhtar is the great-grandson of renowned Urdu poet Muztar Khairabadi and grandson of Jan Nisar Akhtar. He is also the cousin of Farah Khan and Sajid Khan. He did his schooling in Maneckji Cooper school in Mumbai and went on to study a law degree in the HR College, also in Mumbai, during which he was dismissed from the institution in his second year due to lack of attendance. His next few years were spent mostly just watching movies. He married Adhuna Bhabani in 2000, after being in a relationship with her for 3 years. The couple have two children named Shakya and Akira.
