Inauguration of Centre for PRIs & Development Studies at Central University of Jharkhand [ CUJ ]

Lens Eye - News Portal - Inauguration of Centre for PRIs & Development Studies at Central University of Jharkhand [ CUJ ]Ranchi, Jharkhand 26 February 2014 :: The Centre for PRIs and Development Studies at Central University of Jharkhand ( CUJ ) was inaugurated . On this occasion, a day long seminar was organised by the Centre on the role of PRIs in women and child development which saw the participation of over 60 PRI members.

 This centre is jointly supported by UNICEF, the state department of Panchayati Raj and the Jharkhand Central University as per the plan of action signed on 29 November last year by   L. Khiangte, Principal Secretary of the state department of Panchayati Raj,  Prof. Darlando. T. Khating, Vice Chancellor of the Central University and Job Zachariah, Chief of UNICEF Jharkhand office,

 The Resource Centre, located in the Central University, will conduct short term courses on decentralization, Panchayati Raj, tribal, women and children related issues;  create a cadre of resource persons in these areas; and develop a web based knowledge portal and networks. It will conduct studies and research and organize seminars in the areas around women, children, PRI and tribal related issues. It will support dissertations and project work of post-graduate students of the university.

 Dr Khating [ Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Jharkhand ],  Shashi Ranjan [  Director, Panchayati Raj ] and Kumar Premchand [ PPE Officer, UNICEF ]participated in the programme.
