Innovative Evaluation Methodology in Apeejay Stya University, Gurgaon.Gurgaon, Haryana April 15, 2015 :: The Apeejay Stya University is a seat of global learning that offers rich opportunities for innovative teaching-learning, creativity and research across disciplines. Do not get restricted by the boundaries of discipline, pursue broad, well-defined path to develop critical thinking.

With such strong belief and dedication to come up with innovation in teaching and learning methodology Apeejay Stya University recently came up with another innovative evaluation methodology for Engineering students of Engineering Mathematics II. Ms. Garima Sharma (Assis Prof Mathematics, School of Applied Sciences) came up with a two phase evaluation method. Phase I being the question challenge and Phase II being recent applications through presentations.

Groups of students were formed and they were challenged with various mathematical problems followed by a presentation emphasizing on the real life applications, various new mobile apps that are based on mathematical topics, recent research papers, research articles in the form of a formal presentation and report submission. Students were extremely excited and came up with incredible information which was revealed in subsequent discussions and it was impressive enough to realize how they are aware and charged up to imbibe the recent technological developments in their chosen field.

After such deliberations our participants as well as the audience realized that innovation was not a genie out of a lamp but even simple and practical thinking could be precursors to new and broad vistas of development and research. They also realized that it did not really require one to be a genius to be an Einstein, all it required was to think differently.
