Know Disaster for No Disasters

Ranchi, Jharkhand | August | Friday | 07, 2015 :: With initiative of Colonel Dr. Rajesh Singh, Indian Army and Dr. S.K. Sinha Institute of Coal Management (IICM), an awareness Programme on disaster management was held at Multi Purpose Hall of Delhi Public School, Ranchi. The initiative is a part of the group called :Karmanye” which manages disasters at the national level. The solemn aim of the group is to discharge the knowledge to the young potentials so that the larger society can be senitised through school children. Dr. S.K.Sinha focused that disaster management is the creation of plans through which communities reduce vulnerabilities to hazards and cope with disasters. With that aim in mind, the group is visiting various schools in Ranchi and around to propagate and make the children Disaster Management Planners, Resilient and prepare them to deal with disaster in future. Dr. Sinha also spoke at length about natural and man-made disasters and their immediate fall out. In both the cases awareness is important as we cannot prevent disasters fromhappenings but reduce its effect on usby responding to it in the correct manner. Colonel Rajesh Singh conducted a “Mock Drill” with the help of the school children where aftereffects of bomb blast was shown. The children where enlightened on how to manage such a situation with the help of administration and rescue team.

Dr. Ram Singh Principal DPS Ranchi said that he was really honoured to have such eminent personalities amidst ourselves and educating them how to deal with disaster and grow up to be strong and confident citizens of India.

Colonel Dr. Rajesh Singh, Indian Army and Dr. S.K. Sinha Institute of Coal Management (IICM) appreciated the efforts of Dr. Ram Singh, Principal DPS Ranchi in this Noble endeavor and of creating awareness among children and tanning them with all the techniques to be well armed to face all disasters.
