Lens Eye Exclusive : Raghubar Das to be the first Non Tribal Chief Minister of JharkhandRanchi, Jharkhand 26 December 2014 ::  Raghubar Das of The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be the first Non Tribal Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Ever since Jharkhand was separated from Bihar in 2000, five tribal chief ministers have taken charge of the state for nine different tenures.

Raghubar Das won the Jamshedpur East constituency by over 70,000 votes. He is originally from state of Chhattisgarh. He held the office of Deputy Chief Minister of Jharkhand state, India, from 30 December 2009 to 29 May 2010. Raghubar Das, a former employee with Tata Steel, is the four-time BJP MLA from Jamshedpur East since 1995 and also the Urban Development Minister during the NDA government in the state.
