Ranchi, Jharkhand | July | 18, 2018 :: The Marketing Department of Xavier Institute Of Social Service, Ranchi, following its decade old tradition hosted an official Fresher’s Party, “KSHITIJ-2018” for its new batch of 2018-2020 on 18th July, 2018. The theme of the event was ‘Colours of India’ according to which the decoration was done.The Director of the Institute, Father Alex Ekka S.J. was the chief guest for the event and hence lit the lamps, opening the ceremony. After which through his wisdom and experience he greeted the students and motivated them to achieve success through team work. Among the other dignitaries present in the event was Prof. Pinaki Ghosh, HOD Marketing and other departmental heads including Human Resource, Finance, Rural Management and Information Technology. There were also faculties of various departments present in the event including the non teaching staff members of the institute.
There were various events organised by the senior students of the Marketing department to welcome their juniors, with open hearts, some of which includes a welcome dance by the Junior Girls performed under the guidance of the senior students, followed by a solo dance performance by Anubhuti from Marketing 2nd year, a dance duet performed by the senior students, Abhishek Verma and Avinash Steve, dancing on the track of ‘Khali-Bali’ from ‘Padmavat’ movie and ‘Ram ji ki chal dekho’. Spreading melody in the environment was a solo song performed by Zeeshan Mir from the senior batch singing Teri Deewani. Singing ‘Adhure Hmm… Adhure Tummm…’ was a group of senior students including Astha Keshri, Soibom, Amrapali and Nihal (Guitarist) who mesmerised the audience with their melodious voice. A skit depicting the internship days in different companies by the students was performed by the senior students from the second year, in which, the students made everyone laugh out loud with their hilarious script and outstanding performance. Finally, the much awaited event for the day, selection of Mr. and Miss. Freshers for the year gradually begun. Clearing four rounds of the selection process, including a question and answer round in the final round Mr. Mikhil Pranay Singh was honoured with the tittle of Mr. Freshers and Miss. Tanya Agarwal was selected as Miss Freshers for the year 2018. It was Mr. Shantam Gulati and Miss. Simran Gambhir who were the runner-ups for the tittle of the Mr/Miss Freshers.
The students of the newly joined batch also showed their talents to the audience by performing in events like group dance performances, Solo singing done by Amol in collaboration with Vivian on Guitar and Sam on Drums. It was followed by a group dance by the junior students on the song “Ishq wala love”.
The students were overwhelmed when it was there faculty members including the Ex-HOD Mr. A.R. Bodra and Mr. Bhabhani Mahapatra performed a duet singing ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’ and ‘Main Shayar to Nahi…’. Finally the event concluded with flying colours of joy and happiness with a vote of thanks by Akansha Bhagat, followed by a DJ performance.
