02 March 2015 :: Nasdaq hits 5000 : First time Since March 2000.
The Nasdaq briefly touched the psychologically important level of 5,000 on Monday as investors cheered U.S. economic data and an interest rate cut in China. The Nasdaq is still below its all-time record 5,048.62 and intra-day high of 5,131.52, both set on March 10, 2000. But market watchers say the index is poised to spurt higher.
