Ranchi, Jharkhand | September | 11, 2017 :: Delhi Public School, Ranchi has always believed in taking new and unique initiative for the growth and development of the students. A Robotics lab has been setup in the school to help the students establish themselves as successful individuals. DPS Ranchi is the first school to start imparting lessons on Robotics for the students of Classes VIII- X.
Robotics is the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, and application of robots as well as computer systems of their control, sensory feedback, and information processing.
Robotics lab provides an enabling environment for students to innovate through a do-it-yourself approach. The Lab is equipped with machines and instruments such as Lego mindstorm ev3, Arduino, aero-modeling kit, other Microcontrollers from USA.
These equipments will help the students bring theoretical concepts to life and inculcate a range of skills like design, computational thinking and physical computing. Due to the practical orientation of this approach, students will learn to make and invent new technologies which, in turn, can lead to the development of real-world applications and new enterprises.
On this historical development Dr. Ram Singh the Principal of the school said that, working with tools and equipment will help the students understand the concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). It is an initiative to motivate young generation to carve a brighter future for them and for India. He also said that it is helping the students get new ideas to modify the equipments and use it for a better perspective yet to be discovered.
Sharing their view the students said that it is a great initiative of the school and it is helping them, thing in a unique and creative way.
