Latehar, 23 November 2013 :: Sikni Coal mines in Chandwa area of Latehar district of Jharkhand was reopened by Hemant Soren [ Chief Minister, Jharkhand ]
The Chief Minister addressing a gathering on the occasion said that reopening of the mines in Chandwa area of Latehar district would provide direct and indirect employment to large number of people leading to development of the area. He said that in the state all efforts for employment generation are being made. The problems in the employment of para-teachers and teachers shall be resolved soon.
It may recalled that the state cabinet had decided to give 133.7 acres of land for reopening of the mine to Jharkhand State Mines Development Corporation for eleven years.
On the occasion Agriculture Minister Yogendra Sao, MLAs Videsh Singh and Baidyanath Ram, Principal Secretary Mines D K Tewari, senior officers and large number of members associated with Sikni Coal Mines labour union and local people were present.
