Ranchi, Jharkhand | December | 14, 2018 :: Indian Institute of Management Ranchi, the ninth member of the prestigious IIM family of Management Institutions, was established on December 15, 2009 with the extensive support of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and the Government of Jharkhand.
IIM Ranchi prides itself in its carefully designed curriculum, a value-oriented approach and a holistically nurturing environment. Our programs are aimed at grooming students to enable them to face challenges of the real world; to make them efficient leaders who are grounded and humble; to instill in them the quest for excellence and not just for achievement.
IIM Ranchi currently offers a two-year PGDM, which is our flagship program. Going by the growing importance and indispensability associated with human resources, we are the first IIM offering a full-time two-year program in Human Resources Management (PGDHRM). Other courses include Fellow Program in Management (FPM) and a 24-month part time Executive Programme in Management (PGEXP). In addition to this, we have a Certificate Programme in General Management (CPGM) and Executive FPM Programme (EFPM). Our students from the batch 2018-2020 onwards will be awarded MBA and MBA-HR degree.
More than one thousand accomplished managers have graduated from the institute since its inception. We have remained committed towards forging sustainable relationship with the industry through various campus engagement activities like guest lectures by eminent industry leaders, case study competitions, campus recruitment programme for summer internships and final placements, live projects etc. The students have shown commendable performances in various case study competitions and have stood winners at national and regional levels; HUL LIME, Deloitte Campus Maverick, Sony Next Big Thing, Mahindra War room, Tatva of IIM Rohtak are to name a few.
The Student Block of IIM Ranchi is situated in the sports village Khelgaon which is located in the outskirt of Ranchi. The cool, calm and pleasant weather, lots of greenery and being away from the turmoil of the city provides a colourful and vibrant ambiance, making it ideal for student life. The housing facility at IIM Ranchi is at par with the best in the world. It consists of separate blocks for girls and boys. The housing facility consists of a mix of three bedrooms and four bedrooms shared flats that are fully furnished and a dispensary for medical concerns.
IIM Ranchi has 31 highly experienced and qualified fulltime faculty and 63 visiting faculty across various management disciplines such as Marketing, Finance, Operations, Human Resources, Strategy, Economics, IT, OB and General Management. The entire faculty are highly qualified with alma mater including IIMs, IITs and other reputed institutes with vast teaching and industry experience. Members of teaching staff of IIM Ranchi have published many research papers and articles in prestigious international and national journals and have been authors, editors and reviews of various books/journals.
IIM Ranchi initiates the process for building global relationship with various international institutes/universities of repute through collaborations and by bilateral exchanges for students and faculty to increase opportunities of teaching, joint educational and research initiatives on topics of mutual interest. It also serves on reviewing agreements and student exchange proposals, and negotiating partnership agreements. It assists in building strong international collaborative relationships that extend the Institute’s mission and complements its internationalization strategy with which we can explore mutually beneficial opportunities.
IIM Ranchi announce with great pleasure the celebration of its 10th Foundation Day on December 15, 2018. The celebration will take place at the Aryabhatta Hall, Ranchi University, Morabadi, Ranchi at 06.30 pm. Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Honorable Former President of India shall be the Chief Guest for the function. Shri Praveen Shankar Pandya, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Ranchi, Prof. Shailendra Singh, Director, IIM Ranchi, faculty, staff members and the students of the institute shall grace the occasion.
The celebrations will start with Saraswati Vandana and IIM Ranchi official Anthem, and lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Prof. Shailendra Singh, Director, IIM Ranchi shall deliver the welcome speech followed by the Chairman’s special address. Chief Guest Shri Pranab Mukherjee shall address the gathering thereafter.
There shall be cultural events marking the rich culture of the institute and the programme will conclude with the National Anthem.
