 “Diamond Jubilee Festivities” starting from 14th February to 18th February.Ranchi, Jharkhand | February | 13, 2017 :: Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi conducted a press conference preceding the “Diamond Jubilee Festivities” starting from 14th February to 18th February. Fr. Dr. Alexius Ekka SJ, Director, XISS chaired the conference, along with Fr. Pradeep Kerketta SJ, Assistant Director, XISS. The session was also attended by Prof. S. R. Shauq, HOD, Dept. of Human Resource Management, Dr. Ratnesh Chaturvedi, HOD, Dept. of Finance, Prof. A.R Bodra, HOD, Dept. of Marketing, Dr. S.N. Singh, HOD, Dept. of Information Technology and Dr. Maqsoodul Hasan Ansari, HOD, Dept. of Rural Management, Dr. Amar Tigga, Associate Professor, Dept. of Marketing, Dr. Pinaki Ghosh, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Marketing and Dr. Arup Mukherjee, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Finance, Dr. Himadri Sinha, Professor, Dept. of Rural Management and Fr. Ashok Ohol. Queries regarding XISS celebrating its completion of 60 years were answered.

XISS, Ranchi is wrapped up in the spirit of celebrations, as the Diamond Jubilee Festivities draw nearer. This 5 day event revolved around the central theme of “Sustainability”. The event is a unique amalgamation of academic activities with the spirit of the annual college fest, Panache. The occasion will be graced by alumni as well as other eminent people. Students from management courses, studying in and around Ranchi will also be a part of the various competitions held during this time. The event will be flagged off with a marathon organised by the Dept. of Finance and succeeded by a holy mass and welcoming ceremony. It will be followed up with paper presentation by the students of XISS and students of other management institutes on 15th of February.  On 16th of February, papers will be presented by faculty members of XISS. Cultural activities like band performance by MAXISS and the dance competition “On your toes” are up for the evening.  17th of February marks the day of ample number of events like Cross Roads, Politicomania, Photography, Scavengers, Paintopia, Rangoli and NukkadNatak for students of XISS and other institutes to participate. Also, it’s the day when the Silver Jubilee batches for Human Resource Management and Rural Management will be felicitated. The day ends at a musical note with “Sangeet Sandhya”. On the final day of the Diamond Jubilee Festivities, senior faculty members, having 25 years or more of experience, will also be felicitated along with the retired faculty members. XISS will also formally launch the alumni association, AAXISS, where the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer will begin their office for the first time. Later, in the evening, the competition for Mr. and Ms. Diamond Jubilee will start off with the participants vying for the coveted title. The stand-up comedy event, Comedy kaTadkawill provide the audience with the much needed comic relief for the evening.
