XISS : Ranchi :: Freshers’s Day Celebration of Rural Management Academic Session 2017-19


Ranchi, Jharkhand | July | 14, 2017 :: Fresher’s day celebration at Xavier Institute of Social Service started with Rural Management department. The theme for this year fresher’s day was “Rain”. The boys and girls were dressed in colorful attires. The auditorium was filled by the juniors, faculty members, and media persons. The event started around 3:00 pm in the evening. The audience were greeted and welcomed by the Rural Management Student Fr. Satish Augustine. Inauguration of the programme was done in an innovative way by watering the sapling by the dignitaries. Inauguration was followed by a welcome dance performed by Ms. Runjhun, Sheetal and Puja.
Prof Dr M H Ansari HOD of Rural Management Department delivered the welcome speech in which he said “doing what you like is freedom and liking what you do is happiness”. He later on added that this celebration is offer of acceptance. There was a special speech from Fr Xavier Soreng in which he wished a colorful year ahead for all and a joyful experience of learning. He added later on that I wish you all are able to leave your fingerprints in XISS history.
The event was full of cultural activities. There were few phenomenal dance performances by the Ragini and Eleza. The audience went mellifluous by the melodious song sung by Pragya and Awantika. Of all the performance, Rural Management Official Band stole the show with their rocking performance.
Other titles given for Best Ethnic dress went to , Best Fresher party attire went to , Best Buddy day went to, and Best Tapori attire went to.
Finally the much awaited event of the evening Ramp began. Out of 12 boys and 12 girls selected 4 boys and 4 girls went to the next round.
The celebration came to an end with the vote of thanks from Rawee. Later in the night the students were served with sumptuous dinner.
