Deer Park – Delhi.

Lens Eye - News Portal - Deer Park - Delhi. In our previous columns we have talked about Humayun Tomb and National Zoological Park. As we are talking about important places to visit, we have to take care of each and every one as there might be many people who are not that much interested in visiting these two places. What about them? Need not to worry, for them we have a special place and that is Deer Park which is located in South Delhi.

About Deer Park :
Deer park is already a famous spot between families and youngsters. The Park has four different wings i.e. Rose Garden, Deer Park, Fountain & District Park, Old Monuments and Hauz Khas Art Market. One can enjoy the entire area, once inside the park one cannot believe to be in the heart of Delhi. Besides the above the Park has a beautiful restaurant “Park Baluchi” the right place to enjoy a day trip.

What makes this place special:
The Deer Park along with the connected District Park which houses the ancient Hauz Khas lake and adjacent Rose Garden make up one of the largest green areas in New Delhi and are collectively called “the lungs of Delhi” because they provide fresh air in the otherwise polluted hustling bustling mega metropolitan Delhi.

It is called Deer Park because it actually houses hundreds of deer inside the park. There is a large place  in the park for deer to roam around, play with each other, have an occasional friendly fight and provide a learning and entertaining experience to the visitors. However, in this park you will find not only deer but can also see monkeys, mongoose, various kinds of ducks and some beautiful birds etc.

I would strongly recommend this place to every visitor and I am sure nobody will feel disappointed after visiting such a beautiful place in the heart of Delhi.

How to reach Deer Park :
This place is well connected by metro and road. The nearest metro stations are Safdarjung Enclave, Green Park and Hauz Khas. It is also connected to District Park thus making is approachable from R K Puram near the courts side of the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association.

Days, Timings and Entrance Fee:
Entry to the Deer Park and the surrounding green park is free (which I think is a great thing) and it is open every day from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM during summer till October and 5:30 AM to 7:00 PM during winter.

In the end, just request you to take out some time for your family, friends and the love one and visit this beautiful place. Also, stay tuned for more as next week is approaching with a new place.
