Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola :: Transforming the World Together

Ranchi, Jharkhand | July | 31, 2019 :: Xavier Institute of Social Service hosted the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola with the theme of ‘Transforming the World Together’ on 31st July, 2019, in the memory of the Spanish Basque Catholic Priest and theologian on the occasion of his death anniversary. The mass commenced with a ‘Pravesh Gaan’ to welcome Reverend Father Alexius Ekka SJ, Director, XISS, Reverend Father Pradeep Kerketta SJ, Assistant Director, XISS, Father Superior Xavier Soreng SJ, Father Francis David Kullu SJ and Father Ashok Ohol SJ, Assistant Professor, XISS. The mass opened with ‘Daya Yachana’ followed by ‘Mahima Hymn’ and ‘Bible Procession’. Reverend Father Francis David Kullu SJ started the ceremony by offering the prayers to The Lord. First reading of The Bible was offered by Ashima Swarnalata Barla of HRM 1 and the second reading by Anup Kindo of HRM 1. All the dignitaries and the students paid their tributes and honoured St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of Jesuit Society. The mass culminated with the Eucharist.

After a sumptuous breakfast, everyone reassembled in the auditorium for the cultural program performed by the students of 1st year. The judges for the cultural program were Fr. Francis David Kullu SJ, Prof. Dr. Amardip Singh and our respected alumna Mrs. Devender Kaur. The winners of the cultural program are as follows:
Winner: Department of Finance
1st Runners up: Department of Human Resource Management and Department of Marketing
2nd Runners up: Rural Management Programme
