Skill Entrepreneurship Workshop conducted by ICFAI University

Ranchi, Jharkhand  | September  | 10, 2022 ::  A three day Workshop on Skill Entrepreneurship was organized at ICFAI University, Jharkhand campus, wherein 22 aspiring Skill Entrepreneurs from the Eastern Region of India (Orissa, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand) participated. The workshop was conducted by the University in association with the Multi-National Company, BOSCH and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC),under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and entrepreneurship, Govt of India) ,as a part of the National Skilling Initiative, called Project PRIDE.

Dignitaries that participated in the inaugural function, through video-conferencing, included Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. O P Goel, Skilling Expert, NSDC & Bosch, Mr. Shishir Bajaj, Managing Trustee,Indian Youth Centres Trust , Mr. Soumitra Bhattacharya, Managing Director, Bosch Ltd. &President- Bosch Group in India, Mr. Ved Mani Tiwari, COO, NSDC, Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM, Nagpur, Mr. Uday Shankar Singh, CEO,Vishwa Yuvak Kendra and Prof O R S Rao, Vice Chancellor of the ICFAI University, Jharkhand.

Addressing the participants, Prof O R S Rao shared the experience of the University in conducting module-1 of the program ,wherein out 25 participants that were trained, 10 started skilling centers in various locations in Jharkhand and 78% of the Rural Youth that were placed, so far, in reputed companies. Prof Rao attributed the success of the program to the way it was designed and meticulously delivered by Bosch and the University. Motivating the participants, Prof Rao said, “It is an exciting journey for all of you to become Job Givers rather than Job Seekers and enable Nation Building through skill development. I am also delighted to note that 30% of the participants in this program are women”. Prof Rao also expressed his gratitude to Bosch and NSDC for selecting the University to conduct the program for the Eastern Region.

Mr. Manish Kumar, Co-coordinating Officer, Jharkhand from BOSCH explained the objective of the program and how it will help the participants to become successful entrepreneurs. Mr. Sanjiv Shankar Dawn, Master Trainer, Dr Subrato Dey and Dr Sudipta Majumdar conducted the training.

All the trainees shared their happiness on the professional way, the training was conducted by Bosch and the ICFAI University and also expressed gratitude to the organizers for giving them an opportunity to become Skill Entrepreneurs.

Dr. Sudipta Majumdar, Prof. Sumit Kumar Sinha, and Dr. Subrato Kumar Dey coordinated the Workshop.
