New Delhi | October | Wednesday | 19, 2016 :: Delhi Traffic Police had launched ‘Traffic Sentinel Scheme’ for general public on 03.12.2015. It is an empowering tool in the hands of citizens to report certain identified traffic violations being observed by them on Delhi roads to Delhi Traffic Police. Delhi Police has felicitated the ‘Traffic Sentinels’ with Lucky Draw who have accumulated 50 or more points as per the scheme, till 30.06.2016, which has been taken as the cut-off date. A Maruti Car was given to the Lucky Winner Colonel Biraj Sahay of the Lucky Draw. In addition, special prizes has been given to the top scorers and gifts like Cap and T-shirts with the logo of Traffic Sentinel which has earned more than 50 points. Kavita Tholia has earned maximum number of points scoring 8057 which has been appreciated and came on 1st Position in Maximum points category and was rewarded with a Hero Bike and 3rd Position was the hero Scooty. There were total 239 traffic sentinels presents at the venue.
‘Traffic Sentinel Scheme’ was scheduled on Tuesday, the 18th October, 2016 in the Conference Hall of National Media Centre, Raisina Road, New Delhi at 1600 hrs. Sh. Alok Kumar Verma, Commissioner of Police, Delhi was the Chief Guest of the function.
