25 November 2014 :: The Eighteenth South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit will be held in Kathmandu, the capital of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal on 26–27 November 2014. This time the summit is taking place after an interval of three years as the last summit was held in 2011 in Maldives. On 26 May 2014, head of state/head of government of all SAARC nations attended the Swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi in Delhi and the following day held high level discussion with the newly appointed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi which was dubbed as the mini SAARC summit in the media. and they also agreed to revitalize the SAARC initiative and a summit was agreed upon in Nepal at the earliest.
