Ranchi, Jharkhand | January | Thursday | 26, 2017 :: On 26th of January, all the students, faculty and staff members came in together to celebrate the 68th Republic Day. Dept. of Finance organised the ceremony with lot of enthusiasm and was witnessed by all the students and faculty members of various departments.
The celebration was inaugurated by Reverend Father Alexis Ekka, SJ, Director, XISS, Ranchi and Reverend Father Pradeep Kerketta SJ, Assistant Director, XISS, Ranchi. Also, four South Korean delegates graced the occasion making the event more colourful. It was a moment to cherish when the event started off with flag hoisting and followed by singing the national anthem. The event comprised of other colourful performances. Sadri dance was performed by the students which was a delight to watch followed by a patriotic song performance. The programme went to host another solo songand a group dance performance by the students of Dept. of Finance. Students also presented a skit with the theme of elaborating the constitutional rights of every Indian citizen. The South Korean delegates shared their happiness in being able to witness the event and be a part of the celebration.
This day signifies the transition of India into Independent Indian republic and students of XISS believe in carrying forward the democratic mechanism of India. The joy and enthusiasm of each person present there was an evident success of the event.
