IIM, Ranchi :: Agon Rush 2021: Day 1
Ranchi, Jharkhand | February | 5, 2020 :: Indian Institute of Management Ranchi conducted it’s annual Management, Cultural and Sports fest together. Being the first of its kind, this time the institute has brought in two of the most celebrated fests together with double the enthusiasm, fun and passion. The multiple events fest brought in unparalleled zeal in the students. This time, with the theme of “Divergence”, we accommodate each person’s entire business sphere, physical, emotional and mental space, which will be streamlined and will make us take the road less trodden. Staying true to the theme and the year, we diverge to the bright lights and new beginnings. The students across India have participated in the events, with top B-schools, IITs marking their names. .
The fest was kickstarted at 9 A.M. with saraswati vandana, post which our honourable director, Prof Shailendra Singh, addressed the students, fraternity and the guests. He congratulated the student bodies for making this event happen and mentioned how “the event is a prestigious event and students have put a lot of hardwork in inviting thousands of students”.He concluded by saying that “there is no winner or loser in this event” and advised all the students to “participate with enthusiasm and team spirit, connect with people, and come out with flying colours. Prof Nitin Singh, SAC, IIM Ranchi also addressed the audience, quoting J. K. Rowling — “Talent and intelligence never yet inoculated anyone against the caprice of the fates.” He also talked about the specialty of the fest this year being that the two flagship events of IIM Ranchi, Agon and Rush, have been merged.
Walkathon Chief Guest Zainab Patel, Director, Diversity and Inclusion, KPMG shared her words of wisdom with the students talking about the pandemic and the unprecedented changes it has brought about in our lives. She talked about inequalities in society and called upon the privileged to use their social connect to truly bring about a positive change in our society with respect to our actions and attitude towards the transgender community. She concluded by saying “Wish all the luck for your journey, for your journey of karma.”
Agon-Rush 2021 started off on a note of high enthusiasm and fervour as the HR Club of IIM Ranchi — HiRe, kickstarted the competitive fire with their Recruitment based Bidding competition “Maneuver 6.0”. Various teams from across a plethora of B-Schools participated in this 3-round event as they battled to bid for the best profiles of HR Executives, Operations Managers, Business Executives and others to form the best team. The event began with an online close followed by a bidding round. The 3rd and final round, “The Exposition”, called for the participating teams to justify their choice of profiles and the strategy behind bidding for their chosen team in front of an esteemed panel of judges. Maneuver 6.0 was judged by Mr. Anil Mohanty, Head of People and Culture at Medikabazaar and Dr. Piyali Ghosh, Chairperson, PGPHRM, IIM Ranchi. Systematic Entrepreneurship which was judged by Manikantan – VP HostelFund, Ashutosh Burwal- Founder, Buddy4Study and Faisal M Ahsan, Strategic Management, IIM Ranchi had completed its final presentation round today and the winner will be declared soon.
There are two more days of events and fun awaiting the students and the participants. With the all inclusive events including case studies, games, music, dance, quizzes and much more, the day two of the fest is much awaited.
