Ranchi, Jharkhand | June | 14, 2021 :: Biopic named ‘Punarjagran’ depicting the life and messages of Swami Vivekananda, produced under the banner of VEC films, is going to be released firstly on OTT platform Hungama on 26 June 2021. Later it will be available on other OTT platforms like Airtel, Vi, Amazon overseas and MX Player too.
The film has got a ‘U’ certificate from the Board of Film Certification, Kolkata.
In the role of Swami Vivekananda Mukesh Ram Prajapati is there. Babita Sriwastwa as Sri Maa Sarada Devi, Deepak Jha as Sri Ramakrishna, Chanda Kumari as Sister Nivedita, Tapas Chkrawarti as Girish Ghosh and Rakesh Gautam as Devendranath Tagore have tried to do their best in their respective roles.
The Bhajan maestro Anup Jalota has performed a couple of hymns and prayer. Other singers are Shailendra Bharti, Abhishek kumar, Ujjwal Sinha and Puran Shiv.
The background music of the film has been given by Abhijeet kumar Sonu of Hazaribag. Music of the songs has given by Ajay Mishra, Mumbai-based music composer. Recording and mixing of the songs has been done at Ashok Honda Studio in Mumbai while the voice-over and other recordings have been done at Arambh Band Studio in Hazaribag.
The Film’s lyricist are Educationist Dr Hare Ram Pandey, Sandeep Mukharjee and Gajanand Pathak. Original story writer and producer is Gajanand Pathak. Other contributors are Writer and Director- Anirudh Upadhyay, Editing- Naveen Upadhyay, Cinematography- Anirudh Upadhyay, Drone- Raj Verma and Umashankar Jha, VFX Pintu Kumar, Associate Director Anurag Kumar, Painting- Shashi Bhushan, Makeup and Art Umesh Kumar, Costume- Anshu Kumar, Arjun Narayan Rana. Jharkhand Film Producers Association (JFPA) and it’s General Secretary Umashankar Jha have extended special support to this film. Jha said that this film will prove to be a milestone in realising the vision of the Film Industry in Jharkhand, the purpose of film making is more than entertainment and it is aimed at educating and inspiring the general folk of society especially the youth.
Story writer and Producer Gajanand Pathak, who has been actively associated with RK Mission, Ranchi for nearly two decades said “There has always been a craving in my heart to make a film on Swamiji and that intense desire has been fulfilled only because of Swamiji’s grace and blessings.”
The film has been shot in and around Hazaribag. In the present times, message oriented film making is rare. Hence it will give a new direction to the society Pathak hoped. Punarjagran will act as an inspiration among the youth.
The movie Punarjagran tries to underline the idea of strong India as envisioned by Swamiji.
Why Vivekananda is rightly called ‘the architect of modern India’ whose clarion call for regeneration of the motherland is resonating down the line and it is waking up from slumber- becomes live on screen dotted with inspiration is sure to catch the attention of audience.
Director Anirudh Upadhyay said that the hard work of one year has now paid off. After a lot of research the production work of the film started.
