Caring Jharkhand an ISR Conclave 2015

12-Caring-JharkhandRanchi, Jharkhand | August | Wednesday | 12, 2015 :: “Do unto others as you would have them Do unto you” – Caring Jharkhand An ISR CONCLAVE 2015 expands on this idea by Responsibly enriching Jharkhand. This programme was organised in Delhi Public School Ranchi on 12.08.2015 (Wednesday). Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand graced this programme as the Chief Guest.

The Chief Guest was extended a warm welcome with the rendition of a melodious number “Aaye hain hum swagatkarne man main aadarbhavliye”

She was then cordially fecilitated by the Head of the institution Dr. Ram Singh with a sapling and a memento. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp to mark the beginning of the programme.

It was a memorable occasion for Dr Ram Singh Principal DPS Ranchi and the DPS Ranchi family as a galaxy of eminent dignitaries such as N N Sinha [ Principal Secretary , Deptt. of Rural Deptt. of Rural Development ], M R Meena [ Principal Secretary to the Governor of Jharkhand ], S N Pradhan [ ADG , Jharkhand ] and members of the School Managing Committee were present. On this momentous occasion other important guests and parents were also present to witness the programme. While addressing the gathering Dr Ram Singh spoke about the various philanthropic tasks undertaken by DPS Ranchi to promote a proactive stance towards the society. These activities include imparting education to the underprivileged children, promoting education of the girl child, planting saplings for a greener tomorrow to name a few. It was also promised by him that he would strive hard to inculcate these social values in children so that they grow up to be socially responsible individuals of tomorrow.

With the mission of transforming life through Individual Social Responsibility S.N. Pradhan [ ADG Jharkhand Police ] and N.N. Sinha [ Principal Secretary Dept. of Rural Development, Govt. of Jharkhand ] put forth their views on the topic ‘Let’s Transform Life through ISR’.

S. N .Pradhan explained the meaning of social responsibility and said that no one can afford to be alone. He also spoke about the role of Swami Vivekananda and his teachings who said that “You are a part of your context”. It was also highlighted by him that each and every religious scriptures be it the holy Quran or The Bhagawad Geeta conveys the message of remaining interconnected. We all should know that with power comes responsibility and this power enables us to exercise responsibility. Quoting Swami Vivekananda he said that God will be happy if we work for others and not for ourself. He also spoke about Azim Premji, The CEO of Wipro who is considered to be the greatest philanthropist in the World.

N. N Sinha said that we should not wait to be rich or famous to do good things for the society. He laid special emphasis on the fact that all of us have something to give if not money we can give time or knowledge .

The Honourable Chief Guest for today’s programme Smt. Droupadi Murmu said that “We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give.” She said that this can be done by taking active participation in social issues. It was also stated by her that the teachers can contribute towards the society by imparting good education and paying special attention towards the children coming from a socially and economically weak background . According to her Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam should be a role model for all of us.

The Governor laid special emphasis on how each one of us can contribute in some way or the other in making our surroundings clean and green. She herself planted a sapling in the school and motivated the children to participate in plantation drives. There after she unveiled the statue of Mahatma Buddha and Swami Vivekananda.

Ms. Julia Minz who fought against all odds to carve a niche for herself was then felicitated by the Governor as a part of Jharkhand’s endeavour to enrich the state in a responsible manner.
The Governor of Jharkhand then felicitated Ms. Julia Minz, a brave and young girl who has braved all obstacles to secure 9th position in Intermediate Arts 2014. Later Her Excellency also released the annual school magazine Dips Time.

A short cultural programme was presented in honour of Her Excellency which consisted of a tribal dance depicting the rich tribal heritage of the land and a dance based on the Mythological story portraying the story of Lord Ganesha also known as Ganesh Uttpati .

The programme came to an end with the proposal of the vote of thanks and the rendition of the National Anthem. On the whole it was a highly enriching programme and this session will surely go a long way in inspiring students to transform the state of Jharkhand.
