CUJ Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kshiti Bhusan Das’ official visit to South Korea and Japan became successful, MoUs signed with four Universities.

Prof. Das in his special lecture in two countries emphasized on the immense opportunities for foreign students due to India’s growing economic stature and the importance of creating a better human society by sharing the rich tradition of Indian Knowledge System.

 

The 12-day visit of CUJ, Vice Chancellor to South Korea and Japan became successful. He signed MoUs with four universities in South Korea. During his visit, he met the Heads of the respective universities for discussing the MoUs and reached a consensus on various points.

 

Prof. Das said that CUJ is entering into an MoU with universities of developed Asian countries having rich culture and shared heritage, so, that both the countries can come closer and world class education can be provided to the students of a developing state like Jharkhand. Under this MoU:

 

There was a full agreement on extending the already existing MoU with Hankuk University of Foreign Studies for the next five years till 2025-2030. Besides, an agreement was also reached on running joint academic programmes in Hankuk University in subjects other than Korean language and Hindi. Courses will be developed especially in subjects like Management, Computer Science and Social Science. Apart from this, an agreement was also reached to further expand the Samsung Global Experts Hindi Language and Indian Culture Training Programme. Under this agreement, 12 Samsung employees will come to CUJ in August of this year to understand Indian history, culture and heritage and will also learn Hindi in a tandem class.

 

An agreement has also been reached to take forward the MoU signed last year with Busan University of Foreign Studies. According to this, the students of both the universities will be assisted in internship and industrial training and joint academic programmes will be developed in social sciences, management and mass communication.

 

An MoU was also signed with Kwangwoon University and the departments of Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Mass Communication of both universities will start joint academic activities in a short time.

 

An agreement was also reached with Donguk University to start academic activities soon.

 

The Vice Chancellor also gave certificates to seven students of Hankuk Foreign Studies University for their good performance in the Hindi speech competition. The Vice Chancellor also met Indians working in Korea, led by Dr. Nagendra Kaushik.

 

During this visit, the Vice Chancellor also gave special lectures on the growing stature of India on the international stage in three different universities. He has lectured at Hankuk Foreign Studies University (South Korea), Busan Foreign Studies University (South Korea) and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (Japan).

In his lecture, Prof. Das said that the way India is making economic and academic progress, it is necessary for Korean and Japanese students to learn and study India more, so, that in the coming days they can be effective in increasing the economic, social, academic and cultural relations between India, Korea and Japan. He also inspired the students to learn from Bhagavad Gita and Vivekananda. Describing the Indian knowledge tradition, he introduced the Korean students to India’s philosophy, mathematical knowledge, Ayurvedic system, ancient understanding of science, and the unique work done in the field of language. Apart from this, he praised Japan’s work as an ally of India.

Apart from this, Prof. Das presented India’s side in response to a question asked on the India-Pakistan war. He said that it is utterly wrong to say that there is a war going on between India and Pakistan, rather the truth is that this is a fight between India and terrorism and those who promote terrorism. India does not want war, but the elimination of terrorism and its perpetrators is India’s main concern. Prof. Das spoke to the students of both the countries that India’s growing economic stature is an indication that there are immense possibilities for foreign students in the coming days and they should come forward and take advantage of it.
