Deepak Gupta Ex-Chairman UPSC (IAS Batch 1974) will be the speaker for the 8th Webinar series being organized by TEDxKanke.

Ranchi, Jharkhand | June | 01, 2020 :: Rajeev Gupta, the curator of the event informed that Deepak Gupta Ex-Chairman UPSC (IAS Batch 1974) will be the speaker for the 8th Webinar series being organized by TEDxKanke. Mr Gupta is currently the Honorary Director General of National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI). The topic of talk is “Future energy scenario in India”.

Deepak Gupta is a 1974 batch IAS officer and has done BA from Allahabad University, MA History from St. Stephen’s College, M Phil from School of International Studies, JNU and MPA from Kennedy School, Harvard University as Mason Fellow. He had served with both Central and State Government for 39 years in various departments including Jute and Coir Advisor in the ITC Brussels and also as an Advisor to WHO Delhi for the TB Program. He retired as Secretary, MNRE in September 2011 where he initiated the National Solar Mission. Post retirement he was the Chairman of the UPSC from November 2014 to September 2016.

Mr. Ritwik Mukherjee, Sr Assistant Editor, Deccan Chronicle will be the moderator of the event and will be in conversation with Mr. Deepak Gupta on the subject.
