Diamond Jubilee Festivities of XISS, Ranchi from 14th to 18th  of Feb,2017Ranchi, Jharkhand | February | Wednesday | 08, 2017 :: This year is a significant and remarkable time for Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi. The institute is all set to host the Grand Finale of its “Diamond Jubilee Festivities”. The completion of 60 years is being concluded with 5 days’ celebration filled with grandeur inviting all the faculty members, students from different institutes as well as staff, alumni and Industry eminent to be a part of it. XISS has always been receptive to social causes and has ventured ideas and executed them for the benefit of the society. Considering the same, the event revolves around the central theme of “Sustainability” for which the institute has called for paper presentation and publication from faculties and students.

On 14th of February, the five-day event is flagged off with a Marathon and welcoming ceremony.

On 15th of February, the students’ paper presentation event is to be held on the sub-theme of “Management Education for a Sustainable World”. We expect the event will be graced by an eminent dignitary, a world-renowned faculty member Prof. James Stoner of Fordham University, USA who is the key-note speaker of the event. He will be the main speaker of Department of HRM as well. Other key speakers for each department who are expected to grace the occasion are Dr. Richa Chowdhari, Associate Professor, and IIT Patna for RM, Ms Asha Wazeer, Dy. GM in-charge HR, MECON Ltd. For Marketing and Finance and  Sanjiv Kumar, VP and Area Head, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bihar and Jharkhand for IT. Students of various departments will present their topics and be judged by the Chairpersons invited for each department. In addition to that, paper presenters from various MBA colleges like IIM will be participating in the event.The papers presented by the students would revolve around how their respective stream of management education can be recourse to sustainable development. The event has been divided into four sessions comprising presentations from the Dept. of HRM, RM, IT and Marketing and Finance respectively. The following day, on 16th February, the event to be hosted is paper presentation by the faculty members, on the sub-theme of “Leadership and Innovation for a Sustainable World”.Prof. Frank Werner of Fordham University, USA is expected to grace the occasion with his presence as the key-note speaker of the whole event as well as for Dept. of HRM. Other key speakers for each department who are expected to grace the occasion are Prof. M. K Mondal, Distinguished Scientist and Former Director General- DRDO, Govt. of India for RM,  Hemant Sharma, Co-founder VNURT Technology for IT and  Yateen Sharma, Associate Director, Advisory, Pricewaterhouse Coopers Pvt. Ltd. for Marketing and Finance. Faculties presenting papers will be highlighting how a particular stream of management, with a mix of leadership and innovation and with the support of technological advancements, the society can be benefitted sustainably. Similar to students’ paper presentation, this event has been divided into four sessions with each department assigned with each slot.

On 17th of February, the institute is organizing the felicitation program for Silver Jubilee Batch of 1990, 1991 and 1992 of Department of Human Resource Management and Rural Management. Varied cultural events like the very famous Crossroads, Scavengers, Politicomania, Paintopia and many more events are scheduled to be organized. The finale celebration will be concluded on 18th of February with the launch of “Alumni Association of XISS (AAXISS)”. Ronald De’ Costa, Treasurer, World Union of Jesuit Alumni(WUJA), Dr. Devendra Singh, President, Jesuits Alumni Association of India(JAAI) and Dr. Fr. Nabor Lakra SJ, Provice Coordinator for Alumni, Ranchi Province are the eminent dignitaries who are expected to grace the event. The day ends with the most looked out event of this fest, i.e., Mr and Miss Diamond Jubilee. Also, Tribal and Contemporary ramp-walk show will be an added star to the event. We’ll be having the best of the stand-up comedians as well to put up a show to tickle the funny bone in us and various splendid dance performances.

XISS, Ranchi aims a successful and grand celebration of the completion of 60 years inviting present and past members including the alumni and present students, retired and current professors and staff to be a part of this gala event.
