Ranchi, Jharkhand | August | Tuesday | 25, 2015 :: The Government of India under the Dept. of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities has Scheme to distribute Laptops to person with Mental Retardation all over India. In this Scheme, All Persons with Mild, Moderate Mental Retardation having age of 15 to 18 years, belong to SC/ST Community.
Under this programme, A distribution cum training programme held at Deepshikha Institute for Child Development and Mental Health, Ara Gate Ranchi. Three Laptops were handed over to Sobhit Munda ( Ranchi), Aman Kumar Paswan ( Ranchi), Sahil Anand ( Dhanbad ) and given orientation on CAI software package that helps children with Mentally Challenged to develop Functional understanding to live independently as much as possible. On this occasion R.P. Singh [ IAS , Director Social Welfare ] was present as the Chief Guest. Dashrath Choudhery [ officer in charge along with its team NIMH, Kolkata ] were present to facilitate the programme. This is ongoing project.
National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped, Secunderabad is a Nodal Agency of Government of India, to conduct all Scheme of Govt. of India. NIMH conduct 10 (Ten) long term programmes, Services to persons with Mental Retardation, Short term programmes for professional, outreach programmes for reaching out. ADIP camp for distribution of TLM to needy children.
