Ranchi, Jharkhand | July | 31, 2018 :: Xavier Institute of Social Service hosted the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola with the theme of ‘Peace, Justice and Reconciliation’ on 31st July, 2018 in remembrance of the Spanish Basque Priest on occasion of his death anniversary. The morning mass commenced with the ‘Pravesh Gaan’ to welcome Reverend Father Alexius Ekka, SJ, Director of XISS, Father Superior Xavier Soreng SJ and Father Ashok Ohol SJ, Assistant Professor. The Director opened the program with the narration of the inspiring story of the Posthumous Saint, emphasising on the commendable qualities of the Founder of the Society of Jesus. A proper commemoration was ensured through recitation of prayer songs and Bible verses lead by the Fathers and offerings made to the Lord. The mass culminated with distribution of Holy Communion to all present.
After a sumptuous breakfast, everyone re-assembled for the inter-departmental cultural contest which was judged by Reverend Father Alexius Ekka S.J, Sister Lalita and Professor Nidhi Shukla. The victorious teams in this bout were:
