Ranchi, Jharkhand | July | 22, 2017 :: On 22nd july 2017, XISS witnessed a star studded event when the second year students of the finance department gathered together to celebrate a fresher’s party for the first year students of the department. The Fin Stars looked effulgent in their Bollywood star attire. The event started with the lighting of the diya by the dignitaries, followed by a welcome speech by the Assistant Director, Father Pradeep Kerketta SJ. The seniors of the finance department displayed the rich culture of Jharkhand with an enthusiastic Sadri dance performance followed by soulful singing by Debopriya, Vidhan and Soumya Shukla. Now it was the time for the freshers’ to entertain and they did so wonderfully by dancing on vivacious songs. The most awaited event of the day finally arrived: WALK THE RAMP, comprising of three rounds in which the participants showcased their talent and from among them the Mr Fresher Vaibhav Prakash, Miss Fresher Yashaswini Pandey, 1st Runner UpNavneet Kaur and Pritam Das were chosen. The best dressed boy title was awarded to Akarsh Lohia and Neha Verma was awarded the Best Dressed Girl title. The best Entertainer Award was given to Shadab. After the glamorous ramp walk, the audience were thrilled by a music performance by Soumya, whose mesmerising voice touched our soul. It was followed by a didactic skit by the finance juniors, adding enthusiasm in the air was the dance performance by the seniors that forced everyone in the auditorium to shake a leg. We also got a chance to come across an energetic rap performance by the first year student Pritam followed by a Shayariby Shadab that added a filmy touch to the event.Last but not the least was a dance performance by the official dance group of XISS ‘Pulse’ which marked the end to this amazing and glamorous evening.
