Ranchi: An eminent group of international and national women leaders and policy-makers came together in Ranchi to develop and scale solutions that create positive impact for all at the G100- Group of Global Women Leaders summit held in Ranchi on 27 February, 2025.
The program was attended by esteemed guests, including Dr. Epsy Campbell, former Vice President of Costa Rica, and Ms. Euphrasie Kouassi Yao, former Minister of Ivory Coast and UNESCO Chair holder. G100 global chair Datin Hartini Osman was also present during the session.
Smt. Meera Munda, a prominent figure in Jharkhand politics and supporter of tribal welfare, women’s empowerment, and sustainable evolution and Dr Neera Yadav, ex-education minister, government of Jharkhand were also present to advocate for equity and encourage women’s participation and leadership in all walks of life.
Many recognised leaders were also present during the program – Ragini Singh, MLA from the Jharia constituency; Purnima Mahato, a renowned Indian archery coach and former archer; Aruna Tirkey Founder and Managing Director of Ajam Emba Private Limited, a pioneering initiative committed to reviving and mainstreaming Jharkhand’s rich indigenous food culture; Usha Jalan, National Vice President, Ekal Abhiyan; Dr. Mini Sharan, Director of Sharan Path Lab; Sarita Pandey, Chairperson & Director of Bhimbirsa immense. she is also chairperson of women’s wings, PHDCCI, Ranchi and Laghu Udyog Bharti; Sangeeta Sharma, Gold medalist in Air Pistol Shooting at state Level; Manita Gupta, entrepreneur, who owns a retail garment business with an objective to empower the deprived rural women and strengthening their financial condition.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Epsy Campbell said that women across the world are connected through their challenges and therefore can find solutions collectively.
“Time is right, time is now” said Ms Euphrasie Kouassi Yao, giving this slogan to women present at the luncheon.
The event, held at the Radisson Hotel, was chaired by Dr. Harbeen Arora, founder of the G100, and Women Economic Forum.
Dr. Arora emphasized that the G100 platform brings together women leaders and promotes global solidarity for gender equality.
The event saw participation from prominent women leaders, including politicians, social workers, and entrepreneurs. They shared their thoughts and experiences, highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, and social change.
During the session, key discussion topics included promoting tribal women’s products, increasing women’s participation in business and market-based systems, and supporting health, sports, and indigenous art, culture, and products.
The leaders agreed that more than ever, women across the world are committed to shaping their future in a way that drives societal progress and makes them an inclusive part of economic growth.
