IIM Ranchi celebrated National Constitution Day to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.
Prof. Shailendra Singh, Director, IIM Ranchi addressed the faculty, students and staff who were present physically and connected through virtual mode and said that our constitution is the most precious document and we should respect it as this has been formed after rigorous brainstorming and struggle. He encouraged the audience that every individual should try to protect the sovereignty of our country by following the constitution in the right spirit.
Prof Rekha Singhal explained how the various sections of the Indian Constituion have been adopted from other countries that makes it a dynamic and relevant document for all the generations.
Prof. Angshuman Hazarika started his speech by giving a background of the constitution day. He highlighted the history of the constituent assembly. He elaborated on the ten fundamental duties of the Indian constitution. He also told about the introduction to the 11th Fundamental Duties in India which has not been notified so far. He cited various examples of the implementation of fundamental duties.
The celebrations ended with a vote of thanks and National Anthem.
