Ranchi, Jharkhand 13 February 2013 :: UNICEF in partnership with Department of Education, Jharkhand inaugurated the Sports for Development (S4D) programme in Jharkhand in KGBV Namkum, Ranchi.
The Sports for Development (S4D) programme aims to promote good health, hygiene habits, menstrual hygiene management skills, life skills and learning outcomes among students. Under the programme sports kits were provided by UNICEF to all 203 KGBVs.
Each sport kit contains – footballs, handballs, volleyballs, volleyball net, pump inflating kit, skipping ropes, stopwatch, plastic whistles, ground marker disks, ground marker cones, measuring tape and team identification bibs, etc.
Job Zachariah [ Chief UNICEF Jharkhand ] and Binay Pattanayak [Education Specialist, UNICEF ] attended the programme.
