Ranchi, Jharkhand | September | Saturday | 12, 2015 :: A ‘Mathematics’ workshop was organised by “Encycopedia Britannica” under the aegis of Delhi Public School, SAIL Township, Ranchi on 12.09.15 (Saturday). The workshop was primarily based on primary and secondary level of Mathematics teaching. The eminent Resource person Ms. Jharna De who graced the occasion who has a vast experience of 37 years in the field of Mathematics as a teacher/fascilitator and has developed concept building materials for the subject and has co-authored various books for NCERT and lab manuals for CBSE. She laid emphasis upon 5E in mathematics teaching viz. Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration and Evaluation in order to connect mathematics to real life situations. Thus imparting a more lively image of the subject in the classroom premises.
Almost 25 schools of the city participated in this workshop for improvisation of teaching skills in the subject and its empowerment thus making the workshop a grand success. The workshop was initiated by Dr. Ram Singh, Principal, Delhi Public School Ranchi and conducted and executed under the able guidance of S. M. Omair (HOD Mathematics DPS Ranchi) and Rajneesh Kumar and his team. From Encyclopedia Brittanica Zonal Manager Chitttiz Sisodia ,Deputy Zonal Manager Binod Kr. Singh has organized the event and made it successful.
