Ranchi, Jharkhand 23 July 2014 :: Answering a question raised by MP Shree Parimal Nathwani in Rajya Sabha the Minister of Coal, Power and New & Renewable Energy (state), Shri Piyush Goyal informed that some New Projects/Mines are being opened by Coal India Limited (CIL) to enhance the coal production and also doing expansion of presently running mines. Increment in production of coal percentage will bring more employment to all over the states of India including Jharkhand. In this context minister clarified that for the production CIL engages its own employees and some part of company’s activities are also done through outsourcing which offer employment opportunities in the area.
Mentioning details of other states the minister stated that Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana & Uttar Pradesh are also the major coal producers. In another query on coal import in our country Minister informed that normally users imports coal themselves through Open General License (OGL) system so there is no government records of sources, quantity and its cost.
