31 January 2015 :: India on Saturday successfully test-fired its indigenously developed, intercontinental surface-to-surface nuclear capable ballistic missile ‘Agni-5’, which has a strike range of over 5000 kms and can carry a nuclear warhead of over one tonne, from Wheeler’s Island off Odisha coast.
Agni-V
Agni-V is an intercontinental ballistic missile developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) of India.Successful test firing of Agni V is done on 31January 2015 and Agni V is part of the Agni series of missiles, one of the missile systems under the original Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme. According to DRDO chief, the exact range of Agni V is “classified” or “understated” but afterwards he described Agni V as a missile with a range of 5,500–5,800 km.
