18 July 2013 :: A Retail SME Expo was inaugurated by Rajeev Kishore Dubey, Chairman & Managing Director of Canara Bank in Ranchi.
In Retail SME Expo total 7375 Loans worth Rs 101 Crore were disbursed in presence of Rajeev Kishore Dubey, Chairman & Managing Director, He also declared open Six new ATMs & two new premises and visited CAN BAZAR stalls organized bu Canara Bank, Rudsetti trainees. He also donated five Wheel Chairs to Phsically Handicapped persons.
CMD Rajeev Dubey appealed people of Jharkhand to make best use of the products & Schems Launched by the Bank to improve Life Style and to get Self Employment. CMD further said that Canara Bank is the Pioneer of Education Loan Scheme. The Bank’s education loan portfolio rose to Rs 4343 crore in the year 2013, compared to Rs 3993 Crore for FY12, covering over 2.17 Lakh Students. In Jharkhand also Education Loan portfolio stood at Rs 48 crore covering 1654 Students. bank is providing 1% reduction in the interest rate in Education Loan giving to girls to motivate them to get Higher Education. Ha also said that Canara Bank is expanding its overseas presence also. Bank has Five Foreign Branches and one Representative office and planned to open 10 more Branches abroad by the End of March 2012.
Pramod Kumar, Jharkhand Head of Canara bank informed that Bank has started various schemes for the upliftment of Poor and downtrodden persons of the State through Direct Benifit Transfer, in built OD, Rupay card etc. Bank has 100% coverage in all seven districts alloted under DBT issued 2400 Rupay Cards to KCC Borrowers and provided IOD to 6000 account Holders. Bank is fulfilling dreams of “A House” @ 9.95% and Vehicle Loan @ 10.45% ROI only, which is very attractive and competitive in present Banking Scenario.
