Ranchi, Jharkhand | May | 02, 2020 :: TEDxKanke once again organized a TEDxKanke: Webinar Series which started on Saturday, 2nd May, 2020 and was streamed live on our Facebook page fb.me/tedxkanke20. TEDxKanke, an independent TED event was organized in Ranchi for the very first time on 23rd February 2020
The theme of the event is “The Rise of a New World” with a continuation of webinars every week. The event will host more than 10+ speakers over the period of one month in the field of technology, Innovation, Leadership, Creativity and Art & Culture both nationally and internationally.
The first speaker of the webinar series of TedX Kanke Webinar was Shri R S Sharma (IAS), Chairman TRAI. The talk was titled – Role of IT & Megatrends in India. Mr Sharma, an IAS officer of Jharkhand Cadre, is a technology evangelist for the past 30 plus years. In his session, he gave us a positive outlook to look opportunity in this adversity of COVID-19. He evidently talked about the success of IT enablement like UPI which is transformational in Indian context. More than 1 billion transactions are being carried on by using UPI. He also focused on the very sensitive area of role of IT in healthcare. He gave five fundamental points for IT to be more helpful for healthcare. It should be efficient, scalable, cheap or frugal, interoperable and speedy. Shri R S Sharma answered many questions from the audience as well. Among audience, Mr. Sunil Barnwal (IAS) also asked question regarding IT policies post Covid-19.
He also envisioned some mega trends post COVID-19. He said that India could be the next manufacturing hub of the world. ‘Work from home’, ‘remote education’ and ‘app-based economy’ could be the ‘new normal’. In the end, he adviced all to accept the new changes with positivity and new enthusiasm for a bright future where nature and human could stay in harmony.

TEDxKanke: WEBINAR SERIES is a 60 min, one on one event being co-organized by Kanishka Poddar, Kanika Malhotra, Priti Gupta, Santosh Sharma, Bijendra Sharma and Rashmi Saha with an audience from corporate, government, and different institutions of Pan India. Since the vent will be telecasted live on our fcebook page, there is no limit in number of attendees and people from all across the globe can join. It is also a free event and everyone is invited.
