Salman is doing fine : Katrina Kaif

There was a time when actor Katrina Kaif would clam up the moment somebody mentioned actor Salman Khan’s name. But Katrina’s finally spoken out about Salman.

In a recent interaction at Abu Dhabi, Katrina spoke about Salman and said that he is doing fine after his eight-hour surgery in New Jersey, to treat his nerve disorder, Trigeminal Neuralgia.

“Salman Khan is doing fine and he and I will start shooting together on September 11 for Kabir Khan’s film. The schedule will go ahead as planned,” she said.

The actor is Abu Dhabi at present for the premiere of her film with Imran Khan and Ali Zafar. But Salmanwasn’t the reason why she signed the film in the first place, said Kat and she clarified that she had signed the film because of Kabir. Salman also had his own reason to sign the film, she added.

“I didn’t set out to sign on films by Yash Chopra’s production house, but sometimes things work that way and in this instance, Kabir is someone who I worked with on New York and we became great friends. When he approached me with Ek Tha Tiger, I couldn’t say no. Salman and Kabir had their own equation, which is why he opted to do the film,” she said.

But Katrina seemed equally excited about doing a third film from the same production house which has Shah Rukh Khan opposite her. “In this film (Aditya) Chopra returns to direction after seven years and I simply jumped at the chance. Plus, I’m starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan, with whom I have never worked; so I am extremely excited…” she added.

Without directly referring to actor Kareena Kapoor, Katrina again confirmed that she is least bothered about what is made out by the supposed rivalries by the publicists.

“Who has the time or the need to be bothered by numbers? I come to do a job and do it well; if I have some top films, so do other stars. I think all of us are secure in our own space,” the actor said.
