10. About Photo :: My first close-up encounter with the mighty The Himalayan vulture or Himalayan griffon vulture (Gyps himalayensis) – one of the two largest Old World vultures and true raptors. We were driving from Sarahan back to Shimla when we saw these vultures resting on the fence, maybe just after a long flight in the sky. This is perhaps the largest and heaviest bird found in the Himalayas.
