Ranchi, Jharkhand | September | Saturday | 05, 2015 :: Teacher’s Day was celebrated with ample fun and frolic at Oxford Public School, Pragati Path, Ranchi. The teachers of the school had only entertainment fun and frolic along with felicitation ceremony. First of all Dr. S.B.P. Mehta, the Director of the school lighted the inaugural lamp and garlanded the portrait of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the great teacher and the 1st Vice President and the 2nd President of the country. Mrs. Rashmi Bakshi, the Principal of Junior Wing welcomed all the teachers in her welcome speech and wished them Happy Teacher’s Day. Deepak Sinha, the Academic Co-ordinator of the school threw light on the great personality of Dr. Radhakrishnan on the occasion. On this august occasion A. Varghese, the Principal of the school exhorted the teachers to have more sincerity to meet the challenges and expectations of the society. Dr. S.B.P. Mehta, the Director of the school felicitated the Principal A. Varghese and all the teachers on this gala occasion. Dr. Mehta felicitated the teachers who completed 20 years with special recognition and appreciated their remarkable roles in the success of the school. These teachers are Mrs. Radhika Mehta, Sanjay Kumar, P. Hazra (Vice Principal), Dr. Dilip Kumar, Ramesh Behra, Ms. Sujita Ray, Manoj Kumar (PGT Physics) and Deepak Sinha (Academic Coordinator). In his address Dr. Mehta advised all the teachers to strive harder for the better performance of the school. Thereafter the cultural programme started. A number of teachers presented various performances like, songs, bhajans skit, poem recitation and jokes. Game shows were also organised. All the teachers were very ecstatic throughout the programme as they were free from the hectic schedule of teaching. Mrs. Monarma Patnayak presented vote of thanks.
