The 3rd CSR Chaupal by the TSRDS (Tata Steel Rural Development Society)

Ranchi, Jharkhand | October | 28, 2017 ::  The 3rd CSR Chaupal by the TSRDS (Tata Steel Rural Development Society) started with the presenting the sapling by the RM (Rural Management) students to the dignitaries. The dignitaries present were Nikhi Kujur (Sr. Manager HR), Seema Shalini Lugun (Executive HR), Jiren Xavier Topno (Sr. Manager-Community Engagement and Urban Services), Dibyahas Ray (Unit Head Kalinga Nagar), Shammi Kindo (Development Trainee) and Subhendu Gope (Development Trainee).
The Session started with welcome note by Rural Management student Sumangna Panda followed by the inaugural speech by Prof K.K.Bhagat where he talked about the Milton Friedman the Nobel laureate and the The 3P’s the People, Profit and Planet.
After the innaugral speech Ms. Shalini introduced the TSRDS (Tata Steel Rural Development Society) family present on the dice and some insides about them which was interesting to know that apart from manager Jiren Xavier Topno has passion for music and is good at playing guitar and Mr. Dibhayas has love for history.
Dibhayas Ray when addressed the students talked about the core and concept of TSRDS (Tata Steel Rural Development Society) and their working culture. He gave and inside of how the Tata switched from mere incremental thing in their development initiatives to Total Quality Management. Now there is paradigm shift in the developmental work done by the TSRDS (Tata Steel Rural Development Society) today. Apart from Education, Health, Agriculture, Skill there is also Ethnicity which is one of the major focus of the TSRDS (Tata Steel Rural development Society) since they work in the tribal area. He concluded with stating that working in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is not easy, its like a crazy horse, you never know when will it be calm and when will it go mad.
Later on Mr. Jiren Xavier Topno shared the story of their Resettlement and Rehabilitation work they conducted in Kalinganagar, Orissa. He gave some ground realities and the challenges they face in the rehabilitation work. Following him Mr. Nikhil Kujur interacted with the students and addressed them about the importance of the Choupal conducted by the Tata Steel Rural Development Society. Choupal according to him is to know about the expectations of the students and to have a two way communication about the updates in the development world and to implement these text views in the context.
Later on the Subendhu and Shammi the last year recruits in TSRDS (Tata Steel Rural Development Society) from XISS (Xavier Institute of Social Service) shared their experience and their stay in Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS) as Development Trainee.
The 3rd CSR Choupal came to an end with vote of thanks by session coordinator Prof Niranjan Sahoo and Rural Management student Runjhun.
