Ranchi, Jharkhand | February | Friday | 10, 2017 :: XISS Ranchi is wrapped up in the spirit of celebrations, as the Diamond Jubilee Festivities draw nearer. The institute is all set to host the 5 day event which signifies the closing year of the Diamond Jubilee Festivities. This year there is a marked shift in the spirit of the annual celebrations. The academic rigorrevolves around the central theme of “Sustainability”. The academic contributions are being made through paper presentations of the research work and conceptual studies conducted by the students and faculty members of XISS as well as external experts. The event finds its uniqueness in the ideal blending of the academic activities with the zest of the annual fest, Panache, and the gravity of Confluence. The alumni as well as other eminent people will be present to grace the occasion. Students from management courses, studying in and around Ranchi will also be a part of the various competitions held during this time. The students will have a great opportunity to interact and learn from the alumni and other guest speakers for the paper presentations. The event would revolve around the theme of “Sustainability” and the sub theme for the paper presentations by the students and the professors would be “Management education, Leadership and Innovation for a Sustainable World”.The celebrations will be spread over 14th-18thFebruary, the schedule for which would be as under:
DAY 1(14th February): The celebrations begin with the marathon followed by the holy mass and a welcoming ceremony.
DAY 2(15th February): The students of XISS as well as other colleges would be presenting their papers on this day, The event would be conducted in four sessions, one for each of the Dept. of HRM, RM, IT and Marketing & Finance(jointly).The papers from HR would be based on gender mainstreaming and CSR strategies for the new market economy. The RM students emphasize on consumption and conservation for a sustainable world. Finance and Marketing students will be presenting their papers on how financial decisions and green marketing practices are affecting the economy today. IT students will be presenting papers on the best practices of Information and Technology. The students will be judged by the Chairpersons invited for each department.
DAY 3(16th February): The faculty members present their papers on the sub theme of “Management education, Leadership and Innovation for a Sustainable World”. The event will be organized in a manner similar to the previous day’s paper presentation.The faculty members from HR would be presenting on organizational sustainability through employee involvement, innovation and women empowerment. Faculty from RM will be presenting on implementing new agricultural technologies and gender issues. The faculty from IT would be on achieving sustainable development through information and communication technology and women empowerment. The combined session of Finance and Marketing would be discussing the development of start up culture in a sustainable manner and best practices of business.
The day ends with the band performance by MAXISS, the official band of XISS and the dance competition “On Your Toes”
DAY 4(17th February): The Silver Jubilee batches for Human Resource Management and Rural Management will be felicitated followed by speeches from the alumni.
The cultural events kick start the day with events like Cross Roads, Politicomania, Photography, Scavengers, Paintopia, Rangoli and Nukkad Natak in the first half of the day. The second hour holds the XISS Promotional Video Competition, Sur Sangram followed by Sangeet Sandhya to end the day on a beautiful note.
DAY 5(18th February): On the final day of the Diamond Jubilee Festivities,senior faculty members, having 25 years or more of experience, will also be felicitated along with the retired faculty members. XISS will also formally launch the alumni association, AAXISS, where the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer will begin their office for the first time. This will be followed byProf. Nidhi Shukla’s presentation on the Constitution and Future Plan of XISS Alumni.
Later, in the evening, the competition for Mr. and Ms. Diamond Jubilee will start off with the participants vying for the coveted title. The stand-up comedy event, Comedy ka Tadka will provide the audience with the comic relief for the evening.
