Ranchi, Jharkhand | January | 26, 2018 :: Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi celebrated the 69th Republic Day at various locations around the city. The tricolor was hoisted by Dr. Fr. Alexius Ekka, S.J. , Director, XISS at the campus. The ceremony was graced by Fr. Pradeep Kerketta, S.J, Assistant Director, XISS, the Heads of Departments, Faculty, staff and student. The National anthem was sung followed by an inspirational speech by Fr. Alex Ekka, S.J. The cultural events were organized by the Department of Finance. The release of tri-coloured balloons marked the beginning of the celebration, followed by a patriotic song performed by Ms.Sakshi, a dance performances on saadri and patriotic songs. A skit with the message of ONE NATION, ONE RELIGION- INDIAN was also put up by the students of Department of Finance.
On the occasion of the 69th Republic Day, as per the tradition of the Institute, the students of Department of Human Resource Management, Information Technology and Rural Management organized various cultural events, sports events and drawing competitions at their Field work areas with under-privileged kids. These areas included St. Michael’s School for Blind, Guru Nanak Home, Chesire Home, G. E.L Church Complex and various slum pockets across the city, to name a few. The day was one filled with joy and enthusiasm.
