The 18th of February marked the end of the Grand Finale of the Diamond Jubilee Festivities by the felicitation of the Retired Faculty Members, Project Officers and Staff & Who Completed 25+ years in Service at XISS. Dr. RajshreeVerma, Dept. of Rural Management introduced the event. The event started with the lighting of the lamp by Fr. Louis Francken SJ and Fr. Christopher Lakra along with a prayer song. Fr. Dr. Alexius Ekka, SJ, Director, XISS presented the welcome speech. The program proceeded with the felicitation of XISS family members.Fr. Louis Francken SJ talked about Fr. Bogat and expressed his appreciation of the great leader that he was. He recalled the poem written by Alfred Lord Tennyson – “Men may go, Men may come, Long Live XISS!”Fr. Dr. Christopher Lakra SJ was felicitated by Fr. Louis Francken SJ. He expressed his happiness for XISS by feeling gratified and felt like coming home. He paid tribute to Fr. Bogat who was an institutional builder. Faculty members who were felicitated were Prof. J. Ashraf. He said he could see Platinum Jubilee also and he worked with Fr Francken in Rural Camps. Prof A. K. Sinha started with THMC and he said understanding Fr Bogat is like understanding Gandhi. Prof. Anup said, “when you teach yourself, you learn.” Dr M. H. Ansari attended the silver, golden, and Diamond Jubilee. He worked under five directors. Dr. Sant Kr Prasad was a batch mate of Fr Alex. Prof. Shauq was a social activist brought into XISS by Fr. Bogat. Dr. Ramakant Agrawal worked as an expert of Finance under Govt. of Jharkhand. Vote of thanks was proposed by Rev. Fr. Pradeep Kerketta, SJ, Asst. Director, XISS. The event ended with group photography.

The second session of 18th of February was the ‘Inaugural Ceremony of Alumni Association of XISS (AAXISS)’. It was introduced by Himalaya Indraprasth, which was followed by a welcome song by alumni. Dr. (Fr.) Alexius Ekka, SJ, Director, XISS presented the welcome speech which was followed by a speech by Dr. Devedra Singh, President, Jesuits Alumni Association of India (JAAI), and then Er. Shivendra Mohan Sharma, President, JAAI) Central Zone. Dr. Fr. Nabor Lakra SJ, Province Coordinator for Alumni, Ranchi Province motivated the crowd with his speech- “You are the sword, you are the light of this mother earth. As a lot of us are getting trained in social service, we can be of great help to society”. This was proceeded by speech by office bearers of AAXISS. Jasbir Singh Khurana, Vice-chairman, AAXISS presented his speech in which he said “We can expand this around the globe to sprinkle the seed of employment. Our team effort will help our Alma-mater to progress in leaps and bounds. He focused his speech mainly on three major events of a student curriculum which are- syllabus, placement, and life skills. The secretary of JAAI is Alok Gupta and Arup Mukherjee, Treasurer. Arup Mukherjee presented his speech and emphasized on the aspects of AAXISS. He talked about the deficit of alumni which is a problem faced by our institute since long. Other important thing is that every passing batch will be automatically a member of XISS. The MoU was formulated and was read by Prof. Nidhi Shukla. It was registered in Society Registration Act, 1860. It aims to promote and to create awareness about Alumni and Institute Development of Alma mater. The committee will be set for 3 years and thereafter, committee will keep changing on the basis of voting. This time, the Chairman, Fr. Alex Ekka will nominate the members. The registered office will be in XISS premises. Vote of Thanks was presented by Prof. Dr. Amar Tigga. A panel discussion was conducted with the topic “Value Addition in Management Education through collaboration between Industry and Academia- a way forward for XISS, Ranchi”. The day concluded with the most awaited cultural event- Mr. and Miss Diamond Jubilee along with the unveiling of the new logo of“Obscura, the media club of XISS”.

The post-lunch session of the Day-5 of Diamond Jubilee Festivities witnessed the launch of AAXISS (Alumni Association of XISS) which was followed by a Panel Discussion between the faculty members and alumni on the topic of ‘Value Addition in Management Education through collaboration of industry and academia- the way forward for XISS.’.
The Media Club of XISS – OBSCURA launched their new logo to start the evening gala. The new logo was unfurled Prof. Stoner. Prof. Stoner (Fordham University – USA) and RJ Arup (Big FM).
The evening of the final day of the 5-day extravaganza of Diamond Jubilee Festivities shimmered with the sequined dresses and ravishing suits of XISS’ very own students walking the ramp. The event was hosted by Ms. Shreysee Banka and Mr. Adarsh Agarwal.The event started with the first round where all the 10 ravishing boys and 10 gorgeous girls introduced themselves.
The second round of Walk the Ramp was a run-through wearing the designer outfits of Swastika Stuti Designs. The third and final round was the ethnic round where the participants walked with their partners in traditional attires.
Also, the winners of all events were awarded in the Prize Distribution Ceremony during the Walk the Ramp.
