AMDL Health launches app for BlackBerry PlayBook

MUMBAI : Advanced Micronic Devices Ltd launched a mobile application which offers remote patient monitoring system to medical practitioners and can be accessed on BlackBerry PlayBook tablets.

The application, eTraq, has been launched by AMDL Health, healthcare division of Advanced Micronic, an Opto Circuits Group company.

AMDL Health, supplier of medical equipment and devices, said though eTraq doctors can access local patient monitors connected to a hospital’s central monitoring system.

The application helps doctors to make timely decisions by eliminating the need for the doctor’s physical presence at the place where the medical reports are generated.

“Providing real-time critical patient information to enable quick diagnostics is the goal of the application for the BlackBerry PlayBook,” AMDL Chief Executive Arindam Sen told reporters here.

The BSE-listed AMDL had posted Rs 72-crore revenue in FY 11 and expects to earn revenue of Rs 80 crore in the current fiscal.
